康桥IB课程●老师准备好了,那你呢?

  期待学生回到学校的那一刻,让校园重回往日那朗朗书声和欢声笑语,让学校成为世界上最美好的地方。把握住所能掌握的现在,就是最重要的事情。同样的,康桥IB课程也持续积极筹备大学预科项目(DP项目)的认证过程,为西北地区的国际教育贡献一己之力。

Kang Chiao will be back to our dynamic atmosphere again because of the return of our students. The campus became the most wonderful places in the world. What we should do now is capture the present. And we are doing just that for the IB curriculum in Kang Chiao. The school continues to prepare for the authorization process for the Diploma Programme (DP), which will benefit the development of international education in the Northwest Region of China.

  要获得IB总部认证,必须要经过一段非常严格的资料检视,确保从教师资格、教育理念、课程设置跟学习资源等等方面与IB总部要求一致。特别是关于教师资格方面,教授DP学科的教师必须接受IB总部的培训,使其理解IB教育理念、两年课程规划、及教学推进重点。

To be authorized for DP courses, KCISXA must undergo a rigorous preparation process. The IB Organization reviews all the documents to ensure that the school’s teachers’ qualifications, educational philosophy, curriculum design and learning resources are aligned with IB requirements. Especially in the teacher qualification area, teachers who are going to teach in DP need to attend IB workshops which allow them to understand and apply the IB educational philosophy, two-year curriculum arrangement, and also crucial teaching practices for the growth and development of the students.

中文A老师分享

  本次工作坊是从对语言和文学课程主要部分的回顾开始。“语言A”培训有足够的空间供参与者们讨论,以探索教学大纲构建,与认识论、创意行动服务、和拓展论文的联系以及适当的跨多学科课程跟多主题活动的各种可能性。这使我们能够更好地指导DP候选学生完成两年课程。我喜欢与其他语言老师进行沟通,尤其是来自不同语言、文学和文化背景的个人观点的交流。这期间产生了很多有价值的想法共享!

From Language A teacher

The workshop started from the review on the main parts of language and literature course. There was sufficient space offered in this Language A workshop for us to discuss with other participants, in order to explore various possibilities in syllabus construction, connections to TOK, CAS and Extended Essay, as well as the proper multidisciplinary courses/subjects. It enables us to better guide DP candidates to complete in the 2-year course. I enjoyed the communication with other teachers of languages, especially the exchanges of individual perspectives from different linguistic, literary and cultural background. Lots of valuable idea sharing happened!

  探究式学习法是IB课堂的基础,为了我的学生,我会继续朝着让课堂学习更主动及有意义这个方向努力。我发现到我对于评分标准很严格,尤其是涉及到大量写作的时候,可能是因为自己的身为研究及学术写作及语言习得教师的经验。对学生有更高的标准,肯定会促使教师的活动及课堂设计更能提高写作及研究能力。同时,我也需要在评分的时候更宽容,经常查阅IB教师支持材料和学科指南。

From Economics teacher

Inquiry based learning is the foundation of an IB classroom, I will continue to work on this to make classroom experiences more engaging and meaningful for my students. I realized that I am in general quite strict with grading especially when heavy writing is involved, this may be due to my personal experiences with research and academic writing as well as being a language acquisition teacher. I think having a higher standard for my students would definitely push me to design activities and lesson for them to improve their writing and research skills. At the same time, I need to be more lenient while grading and constantly refer back to IB teacher support materials and subject guide.

We did three official forums about international mindedness, IB learner profile, and Theory of Knowledge. The discussion was mostly focused on “How different culture affect the students? Why they need to know other people’s methods of study? How my own profile influences my study?” and most importantly, “How we think of science and the way people do science?”

  以前我认为IB课程很简单,而且跟其他课程差不多,大多是学生依赖教师。但是经过培训之后,我认为这是一个独特且具挑战性的课程,学生在教师的帮助下独自成长。这个课程支持学生的个人及学术成就,学生尝试不同的学习方式,并且为自己的学习进步负责,最终完成目标。

I used to think IB curriculum is easy and will be similar to other curricula where students are mostly dependent on teachers. After going through the IB workshop, now I think it's a unique and challenging where student develop independently with teacher's support. This programme encourages both personal and academic achievement of students. They try different approaches to learning and to take responsibility for their own educational progress to achieve their final goals.

  我们读了IB使命宣言、IB学习者培养目标、跟IB理念。国际文凭致力发展年轻人的探究能力。数学探究是其中一种教学法,也是我应该要持续在课堂上使用,它鼓励技巧纯熟并充满创造力的学生发展潜能。IB课程其中一个目标是发展国际视野及关怀他人的学生,使学生有同理心、同情心、以及尊重,因此能够帮助学生在更高等的教育内获得成功。

From Mathematics teacher

We had a look at the IB mission statement, IB learning Profile, and IB Philosophy. The international Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring young people. The mathematical inquiry is one of the approaches to teaching and learning that I should keep using in my classes, it encourages skilled and creative students to reach their potential. One of the aims of the IB programmes is to develop an internationally-minded and caring individual, who shows empathy, compassion, and respect. Hence prepare students for success in higher education and beyond.

  相信经过一个月的培训课程之后,康桥IB教师能掌握DP项目的核心教学要求,透过课程设计到教学实践,教师的角色从知识传递转换成学习引导,从多种方面提升学习者的能力。这也与康桥学校一直坚持的教学理念相符——创造多元化的学习环境来满足不同学习需求的孩子。

After one month of professional development, KCISXA believes that our IB teachers have captured the essence of IB teaching and learning. From curriculum design to classroom practices, the students’ educational experiences will embody a wide range of academic knowledge and learning skills. The teacher is no longer an instructor, but a learning facilitator. This is also the bedrock of Kang Chiao's educational philosophy – embracing the diversity of learning needs through stimulating a flexible and accommodating learning environment.
